The Kids Are All Right (2010)

A nontraditional family is put up to the test when the children want to meet their biological father. Jules (Julianne Moore) and Nic (Annette Bening) are a lesbian couple with two children each from the same sperm donor, Paul (Mark Ruffalo). When the children meet Paul they seem to gravitate to him, whether it’s because he is a male figure in their lives, their biological father, or just a cool dude, he gravitates right back to them. This nuclear family is never the same after meeting Paul…

The Kids Are All Right is a deep, emotional, roller-coaster ride that seems to only just begin when the credits start rolling. The acting is amazing. Each character has a different perception of the state the family is in and the actor brings out that portrayal beautifully. The story has an amazing balance between funny and dramatic elements born out of each scene. There are no lulls in this Oscar nominated film and will have you laughing and crying within the same two minute span.

Aside from a few graphic sex scenes this is a movie I would recommend to anyone.
